    ESBD-Club Cup 2020 in League of Legends and Counter Strike: Globale Offensive

    On Friday, January 24, the time has come: The finalists of the club league of the eSport-Bund Deutschland (ESBD) will meet in Leipzig to compete for the club cup for their respective region. The ESBD will broadcast the final cup matches and the extensive supporting program on its twitch channel at twitch.tv/vereinsliga. The ESBD Club Cup 2020 is supported by SO.eSPORT, AOC Gaming and Epidemic Sound.

    The kick-off will be at 1 p.m. with the final match in Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) in the Leipzig eSports clubrooms. Competing in the final are 07 Gera eSports from Thuringia and eSport Rhein-Neckar from Baden-Württemberg. The clubs are not only playing for the trophy. The winner also gets the chance to qualify for the ESL Championship in CS:GO by playing a relegation match. Dominic 'slam' Sommersperger and Simon 'Telvozzzar' Bauer will provide commentary on the match-up. At 4:00 p.m. the final match in League of Legends (LoL) will take place on the stage of the DreamHack Leipzig. Berlin's 1st eSports club, who reached the cup final last year, will be competing. They will face TSV Burgdorf from Lower Saxony. Henning 'Chestak' Paul and Philipp 'HappyFailer' Plewniak will provide commentary on the games.

    Both cup final matches will be played in a best-of-3 format. The joint award ceremony will take place at 7:00 p.m. on the Event Stage in Hall 4 of the DreamHack Leipzig. The well-known eSport host Maurice 'Mori' Lange will host the show program, which includes the final cup matches, a "Battle of the Coaches" with Danusch Fischer (BIG), a panel discussion on eSport in popular sports and the live podcast "eSport 2020". Visitors to DreamHack Leipzig can look forward to a packed first day of the event with plenty of entertainment and amateur eSports activities.

    The finals for the ESBD Club Cup 2020 are the grand finale of the first season of the ESBD club league, which started on October 26, 2019. "eSport is very lively, powerful and full of passion. We are excited about the league's matches so far and look forward to the cup final with great anticipation," says ESBD President Hans Jagnow.

    The ESBD club league 2019/2020 is the official amateur league of organized eSports in Germany. At the end of the season, association's clubs compete in LoL and CS:GO to bring the respective ESBD club cup to their home region. With the club league, the ESBD is laying the foundations for a strong youth structure in Germany and honing the talents of the already amazing gamers in the region. The league is a platform for a large number of talents from all areas, including players, casters and coaches.
