DCMM Launches New Categories and is Now Open for Entries
From 24 - 26 January, DreamHack Leipzig will be a gathering for fans of far out design and state-of-the-art technology. Interested modders can apply to participate in the world's longest-standing Case Mod Championship on the DCMM website from Thursday, 7 November from 6 pm until Sunday, 8 December at 11 pm. The 18th DCMM introduces three new categories: The "CAM (computer-aided modding)" will for the first time accept entries containing laser-cut, 3D printed or CNC lasered components - with a special attention paid to design. All first and second-time modders participating in DCMM will automatically be entered into the "Newcomer" category for a place on the winner's podium. Registration for the new "LAN category" will open on November 25 on the DCMM website, in which cases will be exhibited in the LAN area at DreamHack and judged by the DCMM jury.
In addition to the new categories, modders can apply from November 7 for well-established categories such as "CaseMod" (Case Modification - modified mass-produced computer cases), "Casecons" (Case Construction - self-designed and built cases), "CE-Mods" (Consumer Electronics - other case conversions, excluding computers) and the "Livemodding-Challenge", where pairs of modders compete live in front of the festival audience. In the "Most Spectacular Creation" and "Most Beautiful Beauty Case" categories, visitors can cast their vote for the winners.
