      Cosplay contest at DreamHack Leipzig: the battle of the costume artists – At DreamHack Leipzig 2017, many famous games characters will be coming to life and creating a magical gaming atmosphere. That's because on the second day of the festival, a major cosplay competition will once again be held in which lovingly designed costume creations will take centre stage. Following the success of the inaugural event, the number of participants in the contest has been increased from 25 to 30 cosplayers.

      Pokémon Regional Championships at DreamHack Leipzig 2017 – We are very happy to announce that Pokémon Regional Championships are coming to DreamHack Leipzig in January 13-15 2017. Pokémon Regional Championships at DreamHack Leipzig will feature tournaments in the Trading Card Game and the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon video games. Total cash prizes are up to USD 50,000 (TCG & VG combined) based on participation. There will also be Championship Points to play for.

In four weeks’ time, DreamHack Leipzig will be staged for the second time and the anticipation is rising among gaming enthusiasts from all over Germany. Exciting e-sports tournaments and Germany's largest LAN party will create an exuberant festival vibe over three days. The DreamExpo will present the latest hardware and software, including that from the partners XMG, Amazon.de and Ballistix. In the Stream Area, visitors will be able to see Germany’s elite streamers up close and a Cosplay competition will create a magical gaming atmosphere.

      Amazon.de brings "Gamers Cage", "Gamers Showroom" and Twitch Stage to DreamHack Leipzig – The third partner for DreamHack Leipzig has now been announced. From 13 to 15 January 2017, Amazon.de will offer a unique experience for all e-sports fans, hardcore gamers and tech enthusiasts. In the "Gamers Cage" visitors will be able to try out the latest devices, in the "Gamers Showroom" dream of playing on one of the Pro-PCs on display, and meet famous influencers on the Amazon Twitch Stage.

      Ballistix supports DreamHack Leipzig 2017 as a partner – Following its success at this year's DreamHack Leipzig, Ballistix will support the official German platform of the world's largest gaming festival again as a partner next year. Among other things, the popular gaming brand will host a big installation competition and provide first-class prizes for the LAN tournaments.

      DreamHack Leipzig: DreamHack Open will get the new year under way with CS:GO – The first tournament highlight has been announced: DreamHack Open 2017 will celebrate its start to the year with a CS:GO tournament. Professional teams and qualifying amateurs will compete against one another from 13 to 17 January at the official German platform of the world's largest gaming festival. Prize money totalling 100,000 US dollars awaits the winners.

      IndieVille at DreamHack Leipzig: casting a spotlight on independent developers – Independent developers have created plenty of buzz in recent years with their innovative gaming concepts. To promote the creativity of up-and-coming talent, the IndieVille at DreamHack Leipzig 2017 will once more provide a dedicated area for fledgling game developers and start-ups. This year, the IndieVille will for the first time be sponsored by the German Gaming Industry Association (GAME). Leipziger Messe and GAME will provide the indie scene with the opportunity to present themselves and their exceptional projects in an area specially dedicated to this purpose.

      DreamHack Leipzig 2017: LAN tickets go on sale on 13 September – When DreamHack Leipzig enters its second round from 13 to 15 January 2017, gamers from throughout Europe can expect a three-day-long spectacle which includes Germany's largest LAN party, exciting e-sports tournaments and the DreamExpo exhibition. After advance sale of visitor tickets began last month, tickets for the LAN area will go on sale at 1.37 pm on Tuesday 13 September 2016. With 50 additional spaces (totalling 1,500) and numerous optimisations, the LAN party will surpass itself in the coming year. Three different ticket categories will once again be available.

      DreamHack: the gaming scene celebrates winter games in Leipzig – A great festival atmosphere, exciting e-sports tournaments and a sold-out LAN party: The première of DreamHack Leipzig has been a complete success. More than 12,000 visitors streamed into the Leipzig trade fair’s Hall 5 in order to experience the official German platform of the Swedish DreamHack, the world’s largest e-sports festival, from 22 to 24 January. Every last seat in the grandstands was filled during the tournaments between the professional players. Concentrated silence and frenetic cheering marked the fascinating ebb and flow of tension and euphoria. At the same time, more than 1,000 gamers made Germany’s largest LAN into a place that never slept during the past three days. The DreamExpo exhibition area with integrated DreamStore presented the latest hardware, gaming equipment, games and merchandise, and was a lively playground for gamers, streamers, YouTubers and cosplayers late into the evening hours.
