      Level 2 complete: gamers throng to the second DreamHack Leipzig – From 13 to 15 January 2017, the Leipzig Trade Fair was transformed into a giant festival for gamers from throughout Europe. Over the course of three days, 15,000 enthusiastic visitors (including 1,500 LAN participants) witnessed exciting e-sports tournaments, celebrated spectacular events, and tested innovations at the stands of the DreamExpo. There were 56 hours of non-stop play at Germany's biggest LAN party. "The second DreamHack Leipzig was a huge success which even managed to surpass the excellent première of the previous year. Thanks to the close collaboration between everyone involved, within the space of just one year the festival has developed into a highlight event for gamers", explains Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of the Leipzig Trade Fair, adding: "Leipzig is ready for Level 3 of DreamHack next year."

      Streaming stars at DreamHack Leipzig – Streamers are the pop stars of the gaming scene. We will be paying homage to their popularity by inviting some of them to DreamHack Leipzig in 2017, where they will be broadcasting from a dedicated streaming area in Hall 5. Visitors of the three-day event can look forward to an absolute highlight. They get to watch their idols in action and say hello to them in person in the meet & greet area. Gamers who cannot make it to Leipzig between 13 and 15 January 2017 can experience the festival in real time on many YouTube and Twitch channels – from anywhere in the world.

      The second DreamHack Leipzig is about to begin: three days of exciting events, high-tech and superlative gaming await – This weekend, the Leipzig Trade Fair will again become a Mecca for thousands of gaming enthusiasts from Germany and abroad, when the second DreamHack Leipzig gets under way. Gamers and fans will find thousands of e-sports tournaments, the DreamExpo exhibition area, Germany's biggest LAN party, a Stream Arena with Germany's streamer elite, a large Pokémon area, and a jam-packed events programme. "With a considerably bigger venue and an even bigger programme, this year's DreamHack Leipzig will even surpass the successful première of last year", explains Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of the Leipzig Trade Fair. "Together with our co-organiser XMG, we are looking forward to a three-day event bursting with highlights and emotions."

      Cosplay contest at DreamHack Leipzig: the battle of the costume artists – At DreamHack Leipzig 2017, many famous games characters will be coming to life and creating a magical gaming atmosphere. That's because on the second day of the festival, a major cosplay competition will once again be held in which lovingly designed costume creations will take centre stage. Following the success of the inaugural event, the number of participants in the contest has been increased from 25 to 30 cosplayers.

      Pokémon Regional Championships at DreamHack Leipzig 2017 – We are very happy to announce that Pokémon Regional Championships are coming to DreamHack Leipzig in January 13-15 2017. Pokémon Regional Championships at DreamHack Leipzig will feature tournaments in the Trading Card Game and the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon video games. Total cash prizes are up to USD 50,000 (TCG & VG combined) based on participation. There will also be Championship Points to play for.

In the Stream Area, visitors will be able to see Germany’s elite streamers up close and a Cosplay competition will create a magical gaming atmosphere.

      Amazon.de brings "Gamers Cage", "Gamers Showroom" and Twitch Stage to DreamHack Leipzig – The third partner for DreamHack Leipzig has now been announced. From 13 to 15 January 2017, Amazon.de will offer a unique experience for all e-sports fans, hardcore gamers and tech enthusiasts. In the "Gamers Cage" visitors will be able to try out the latest devices, in the "Gamers Showroom" dream of playing on one of the Pro-PCs on display, and meet famous influencers on the Amazon Twitch Stage.

      DreamHack Leipzig: DreamHack Open will get the new year under way with CS:GO – The first tournament highlight has been announced: DreamHack Open 2017 will celebrate its start to the year with a CS:GO tournament. Professional teams and qualifying amateurs will compete against one another from 13 to 17 January at the official German platform of the world's largest gaming festival. Prize money totalling 100,000 US dollars awaits the winners.

      IndieVille at DreamHack Leipzig: casting a spotlight on independent developers – Independent developers have created plenty of buzz in recent years with their innovative gaming concepts. To promote the creativity of up-and-coming talent, the IndieVille at DreamHack Leipzig 2017 will once more provide a dedicated area for fledgling game developers and start-ups. This year, the IndieVille will for the first time be sponsored by the German Gaming Industry Association (GAME). Leipziger Messe and GAME will provide the indie scene with the opportunity to present themselves and their exceptional projects in an area specially dedicated to this purpose.
