DreamHack Leipzig 2019: Starting Signal for the New International Rocket-League-Tournament-Series
In February, DreamHack Leipzig will again become the festival stronghold for gamers from near and far. Over the last few years, the festival has established itself as the premier winter games of the community with its numerous top-class tournaments. In 2019 DreamHack Leipzig will launch something new: The new international tournament series "DreamHack Pro Circuit", which includes four major Rocket League tournaments in Europe and North America, begins February 15-17 at the Leipzig trade fair. A $100,000 prize pool awaits competing teams in Leipzig.
A large Rocket-League-Tournament took place at the last DreamHack Leipzig. It was part of the DreamHack Open and had a prize pool of $50,000. DreamHack Leipzig fans and visitors were delighted by the numerous exciting matches - especially the fiercely fought final, in which PSG Esports beat G2 Esports 4-3.
The new DreamHack Pro Circuit with its prize money of $100,000 per tournament shows how serious DreamHack AB from Sweden, the organizer of the tournament series is about this circuit. At each of the four tournaments, the best teams in the world will be invited to compete against new challengers from the qualifiers.
"Rocket League has generated a steadily growing fan base in the past few years. The tournament was one of a crowd pleasers at the 2018 DreamHack Leipzig. That is why we are delighted that Rocket League will return this coming February with leading international teams, double the prize money and even more prestige," said Stephanie Scholz, project director of DreamHack Leipzig, and added: "As a youth-friendly game, the Rocket League Pro Circuit is a perfect fit for our new concept for visitors 12 years and up."
Additional information about the qualification rounds and dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
