    DreamHack Leipzig announces first tournaments

    Annual start of the DreamHackOpen with CS:GO and StarCraft II / start of advance ticket sales for visitor tickets / LAN area sold out

    At the DreamHack Leipzig, the German platform of the world's largest eSports-Festival, exciting and top-class competitions play a central role. As highlight gamers from throughout Europe can look forward to the annual start of the prestigious tournament series DreamHack Open. The games will be Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and StarCraft II: Legacy of Void. Apart from this next week the advance sales for the visitor’s tickets will start. The tickets for the LAN area are already completely sold out.

    The DreamHack Open was founded in 2012 and has now become established as one of the leading international sports tournament brands. At the 23 events in six countries up to now 26 champions have asserted themselves and prize money of more than one million US-Dollars has been paid out.

    Within the scope of the DreamHack Leipzig the annual start of the DreamHack Open 2016 will take place. For the tournaments Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and StarCraft II: Legacy of Void not only professionals can register but also amateur gamers. Details on the procedure will be announced over the coming weeks.

    Next week Tuesday, October 20, 2015, the online advance sale for the visitor’s tickets will start. These entitle for access to the festival and its comprehensive supporting program, the exhibition DreamExpo with DreamStore and the tournament area. Due to youth protection regulations the minimum age is 16 years.

    The tickets for the LAN area and the DreamHack Leipzig, where with 1,000 participants the currently largest LAN-Party in Germany will be celebrated, were already completely sold out within two and a half weeks after the start of the advance sales. The comfortable XMG-Tickets, which contained the provided hardware and gaming chair, were already "Sold Out" after a few minutes.

    About the DreamHack Leipzig

    The DreamHack Leipzig is the official German platform of the Swedish DreamHack, the worldwide largest eSports-Festival. It celebrates its premier from January 22. to 24., 2016 and will then take place every year. The organiser is the company Leipziger Messe GmbH with the company Schenker Technologies GmbH as partner and DreamHack AB as license giver. The main components of the DreamHack Leipzig are a LAN-area with more than 1,000 seats, numerous eSports tournaments with in total six figure prize money and the exhibition DreamExpo with the associated DreamStore. There innovations from the areas hardware, software, games and accessories will be offered.     The DreamHack is the worldwide largest Computer-Festival. Core and origin of DreamHack is the LAN-Party - the two largest festivals are the DreamHack Summer in June and the DreamHack Winter in November.
