    Gaming Marathon at DreamHack Leipzig 2019

    From 15 to 17 February 2019, the Leipzig Trade Fair will once again be transformed into a hotspot for gamers from near and far. DreamHack Leipzig is going into its fourth round and playing to its strengths. Exciting eSports tournaments and Germany's largest LAN party come together with a packed event program and an expo showcasing the latest hardware, software, accessories and merchandise. This year, for the first time, DreamHack Leipzig is open to visitors 12 and up. Events and content with a higher age rating can be found in a special area for those 16 and over.

    In addition to the previously announced launch of the brand-new DreamHack international pro circuit Rocket League tournament series with a prize pool of 100,000 US dollars, there are other eSports highlights. CS:GO returns to DreamHack Leipzig. On the second day of the festival, "The WinterNational" by AMD will be held for the first time. Four teams will compete against each other to be crowned with the first "The WinterNational" champion. Three of the best German CS:GO teams are participating: Sprout, ALTERNATE aTTaX and expert eSport. The fourth team will be determined by a preliminary qualifier.

    Also awaiting visitors is the second edition of the "Win the Winter" Hearthstone Tournament, which offers 10,000 Euros in prize money. This year, the eSport Germany Club Cup (ESBD) will also be held for the first time. The 1st Berlin eSport-Club e.V. (1.BeSC e.V.) and Magdeburg eSports have qualified for the League of Legends cup final, which will be held on the Event Stage on the first day of the festival.

    Technology, Games and Streamers at DreamExpo

    There is lots to do and discover in the DreamExpo exhibition area. Co-organizer XMG and other companies, such as Samsung, MSI, Trust Gaming, Arctic, Hörluchs and Zotac Gaming, will be presenting the latest hardware and peripherals. There are gaming chairs from NEEDforSEAT, and SenseForce will present its perfectly matched sound-feel system. Anime Import, Game Legends, badge4fan and Dimensione Anime await swag collectors. The MediaMarkt DreamStore, with its 450 square meters, has everything a gamer could dream of – and that at great prices.

    The Indie Arena Booth will be a at DreamHack Leipzig for the first time. Some 20 development teams will be presenting the most exciting and intriguing new discoveries from the vast wild world of indie games across 250 square metres. In keeping with DreamHack Leipzig, the Indie Arena Booth will focus on multiplayer games. There will also be a streamer studio and the official DreamHack Leipzig Streamer Lounge.

    Exciting Program with Modding, Cosplay and MAX Gaming Area

    This year, the International German Casemodding Championship (DCMM) celebrates its DreamHack-Leipzig premiere. The international modding competition gives the world's best modders, who create unique pieces from standard hardware, the chance to present their creative work. The scene's elite present their skills in six different categories and the 24h Livemodding Challenge. Over the course of three days, teams work on standard computer cases live in front of visitors. On the last day of the exhibition, a jury of experts will select the most impressive mod in each category. During the championship, the audience also has the chance to choose their favorite creation and Germany's most superb beauty case from the exhibited mods.

    The Cosplay Contest is one of the most popular events at the Gaming Festival. Lots of famous game characters are brought to life, creating a magical atmosphere. A total of 30 contestants will show off their amazingly designed costume creations in the Event Stage limelight. The expert jury, made up of well-known cosplayers, pre-selects the participants and announces the winners on the second day of the festival on the Event Stage. There are also cosplay highlights beyond the competition. The "Warcrafters" from Denmark, a cosplay group who has made a name for themselves with their great passion for the Warcraft universe, will be on-site. They will bring their own Darkmoon Faire reproduction from World of Warcraft to DreamHack Leipzig, in which visitors can play famous mini-games from the MMORPG classic.

    GameStar, GamePro, Mein-MMO and IGN, the biggest German-language gaming websites, are DreamHack Leipzig's media partners this year. They will run the joint live streaming channel MAX - Monsters and Explosions, all about gaming culture. MAX will focus on talks on multiplayer topics, eSports and hardware, as well as live gameplay. The team will report live on the highlights of DreamHack Leipzig for 10 hours a day, analyse game trends with experts and play live with well-known scene guests in their own gaming area.

    Germany's Largest LAN Party

    DreamHack Leipzig is once again the setting for Germany's largest LAN party. Hobby gamers from all over Germany will make their way to the Leipzig Trade Fair to play with and against each other for 56 hours. Players can compete against each other in a variety of tournaments, and not just for fame and honor – there are also some very attractive prizes on the table. For the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive LAN tournament, the final of which will take place on Sunday on the Event Stage, the victorious team will be presented with a voucher for a free 3-night stay of up to 15 players in the "Rapid LAN House" worth over 2,000 Euros. The facility opened in 2018 and boasts 450 square metres of floor space, making it ideal for your own LAN party.

    The LAN tournament is open to guests 18 and up, and the DreamExpo can be visited by fans 12 and older. Events that take place in the exclusive area for those over 16 are marked accordingly on the DreamHack-Leipzig website.
