Press release from 1/17/18 | DreamHack Leipzig

SPORT1 becomes the media partner of DreamHack Leipzig

Between 26 to 28 January, thousands of visitors and LAN participants will once again come together to celebrate the start of the e-sports year in Germany at DreamHack Leipzig 2018. As the event’s official media partner, SPORT1 will be right at the heart of the action: the collaboration with Leipziger Messe means that SPORT1 will have a large presence at the event and also extensively report on DreamHack Leipzig via its digital channels.

“The collaboration between Leipziger Messe and SPORT1 highlights the growing stature of DreamHack Leipzig as a key festival for the gaming and e-sports community in Germany. We are pleased to have a media partner such as SPORT1 on board – a broadcaster who provides extensive coverage of e-sports in its reporting and has comprehensive experience in this domain. Both sides will benefit greatly from this collaboration”, says Stephanie Scholz, Project Director at DreamHack Leipzig.

“When the German e-sports year gets under way in Leipzig, SPORT1 will of course be right at the heart of the action. DreamHack is one of the largest community events in the German-speaking world and therefore a great partner for us. We are already one of the leading e-sports destinations in Germany and will further expand our commitment in this area in future”, explains Dominic Multerer, Director eSports TV & Digital at SPORT1. Multerer will also attend the e-Sports Business Forum, the specialist conference at the start of DreamHack Leipzig, as a member of the panel.
